Animation Workshop with Matthew and Andrew
Limited to 50 places per city.
Participants will work in 5 groups of ten. For the first half of the day the students will develop a short story idea based on a story premise we give them. The students will use the "Six Stages of Story Structure" to develop their ideas under our supervision. They will then transfer their ideas to beatboards and each group will pitch their story idea before lunch. After lunch, the students design the characters, explore the acting for the characters, and animate walk cycles. Throughout the day we will have each group pitch what they are working on and get feedback from Andrew and Matthew.
Thanks to Wacom Australia we will have 5 Intuos Medium Pro tablets for use during the workshop. www.wacom.com/en/au |
Day 3 10am-6pm
STREAM 2
Deconstructing Pixar Classics with Bobette Buster
Drawing from the techniques and tools of the extraordinary filmmakers of our time, Bobette will deconstruct Finding Nemo and Toy Story 2 to illustrate key concepts to understand the purpose of story structure, a character's arc of transformation, the core theme, zeitgeist and how these are interwoven and enhanced through cinematic language. Bobette's seminar offers a clear, methodological and unique approach to developing a screenplay that is essential for any screenwriter, producer or director. In understanding how to use these tools to orchestrate the audience's emotional response, a filmmaker will be able to elevate a script to the highest quality.
